President Biden Names Five New Judicial Nominees

Seventeenth round of nominees since the president’s inauguration.

The White House announced the nomination of five judges to positions in the Circuit Court and District Courts. Lara E. Montecalvo, Judge Sarah A. L. Merriam, and Judge Elizabeth Hanes all have backgrounds as public defenders, and Anne M. Nardacci and Ana C. Reyes have decades of experience as partners in high-profile law firms.

“These choices also continue to fulfill the President’s promise to ensure that the nation’s courts reflect the diversity that is one of our greatest assets as a country — both in terms of personal and professional backgrounds,” said the White House stated with the announcement.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for members of the Senate as the nominees are considered and votes are cast.
  • For federal judges to seek God’s discernment as they interpret the law and the Constitution.
